Hi Olivia,

Bonjour! Comment t'allez-vous, aujourd'hui? Je suis tres bien. That's about all I remember, I need to get back to my French studies too.

I agree, the occasional treat does us good, and helps with long term change. Enjoy that great weather! Some of us, me, would love to get just one day of that right now.

I have heard of more comfortable bike seats. I followed this family that spent a year on their bikes traveling around. They had a source for great bike seats, here are some examples of the sheepskin you can also get foam padding to go with that, and I see a link to the larger seats with gel on that Amazon page also. I have seriously considered the sheepskin and foam!!!

Bonjour tout le monde (I'm learning French, can you tell?) Nice to catch up on everyone's progress and Anne, your posts are always wonderful. You put so much work into it, I'm in awe and inspired.

Health-wise, I had an okay week. I've lost a total of 5 pounds since starting two weeks ago. I had lost 7, but felt a tremendous need for pasta and I gave in the craving. I can't say I regret it because those occasional treats are necessary to keep me going long-term. I also got a little more exercise in this week. I sneak that in because I hate doing it. I snuck it in via a lovely bike ride. The weather is beautiful right now in Phoenix, so biking is more like fun than anything else. Butt hurts today though... does anyone make a comfortable bike seat???

Writing went well. I did some everyday and when I sat down to write, I actually wrote. Didn't just surf the web or play pathwords on Facebook. I'm still struggling with working on more than one piece at a time, but I guess that's my cross.

Wow, I really just rambled. Sorry about that! ~ Olivia

C.L.,

That is great to make progress without really trying! And, aren't the inches more fun than just losing pounds?

Well, I do have something good to report this week. I currently don't have a scale in my house (to be remedied this week, as I need the motivation of visible progress), but I do seem to have lost about half an inch off my body measurements. For not really doing anything this month, I consider that a decent accomplishment.

Thanks PJ, I'm glad you like the posts.

Taking time to purely relax is a major accomplishment unto itself! And, congrats on the weight loss!

I am dreading the next round of colds & ickies from school - last fall was a nightmare of constant illness. Hang in there.

I love your weekly posts, Anne - keep up the good work! I'm actually doing pretty good on the balance part of my objectives - i'm taking a bit of time to just purely relax. My son's sleep schedule is starting to return to (somewhat) normal, so that's a big improvement. Now if we can get everybody healthy (colds are making their rounds now!). More good news is that i'm halfway to my weight loss goal - i only had a 10lb objective, but so far so good! :-)

Then I'm sure you know the secret of quinoa - a complete protein! And, if you add dry fruit, a little rice milk or a dash of agave - you have quite a morning treat! For anyone who wants a great sweetener alternative - I highly recommend Agave - really tasty and low glycemic - totally natural.

Ooh, I like that squirrel mix thing. I'm going to get the ingredients today. So glad to know another person who likes to eat quinoa as hot morning cereal!
